Halloween Makeup
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Oh I just love this holiday! As a makeup artist it is an exciting day that I can be as creative and out going as I want!!! This year I transformed myself into a vampire! It isn’t often that I get to use those deep dark shades in my color palette, so I took full advantage of them for this look. I wanted to look believable but also glamorous.
I started with my eyes and used plum and black shadows and the thickest line of black eyeliner I could make without covering my entire lid. I wanted my eyes to look sunken in while still being appealing. I took the black shadow in my crease up above my orbit bone to give the illusion that my eyes were more deep set. Then of course I finished it with white sparkle highlighter shadow under my super defined eyebrows and 8 coats of mascara!
Next I applied the palest shade of foundation in my kit and set it with white powder. Then instead of using bronzer I took a dark brown almost black shadow and used that to contour my face. I applied it in the normal places that bronzer goes again to give the illusion of more sunken in facial features. To prevent this from looking like I fell in the mud I blended and blended the dark shade with my regular bronzer shade until there were no blotches or distinct lines. Be patient, blending takes time. Then I dusted my entire face with a silver illuminating powder. It didn’t look natural, but that’s okay, I wanted to look dead.
I finished the look with blood red lip color. I lined my lips first with a red lip liner pencil to get perfect definition and then filled it in with several layers of deep red lipstick followed by clear gloss mixed with red glitter for some glamour.
Overall it took me about 40 minutes to achieve this look. I had to rush out the door before I could have a mini photo-shoot, but hopefully someone took photos from the evening. If so I will be sure to post them as soon as I get them. Everyone have a wonderful creative Halloween! And be safe!!!!
